About Us

The word “pub” originates from the term “public house” which references a community gathering place or focal point within the community for socializing and sharing stories, daily events, and in our case, great food with a great beverage.

The idea is to bring the best of what Ireland has to offer to the States. Creating a true and authentic “public house” environment is the hallmark of The Claddagh Irish Pub, bringing the "Craic" of the Irish to our pubs. "Craic" (Pronounced crack) means a fun, friendly and exuberant atmosphere.

Come experience a bit of Ireland in your own backyard.

Colors of Claddagh

All the doors in the city of Dublin are painted in exciting and vibrant shades of purples, reds, blues and greens. Why are the doors so colorful, you might be wondering?

When Queen Victoria’s husband died, a royal decree was sent throughout the United Kingdom (which Ireland was still apart of at the time). The decree stipulated that all the doors in the cities be painted black to mourn the late royal. The Irish, being ever spiteful and rebellious, ignored the royal decree and painted their doors every color but black. To this day, the doors remain a colorful reminder of their disobedience.

The effervescent blue is the color of the St. James’ Gate in Dublin Ireland. St. James’ Gate, often considered to be the eighth wonder of the world, is home to the Guinness Brewery.

The beautiful maroon color is the official color of the city of Galway. Located on the west coast, Galway is nicknamed Ireland’s Cultural Heart (Croí Cultúrtha na hÉireann) and is renowned for its vibrant lifestyle and numerous festivals, celebrations and events. It is also home to the owner of the Claddagh Irish Pubs.
